The Canadian apartment sector has been facing issues over the past year. With turnover rates at record lows, apartment owners can still move in-place rent at a healthy pace. However, asking rents are flat and growth could be tepid in '25 as changes in immigration policies should negatively impact demand. In addition, supply is expected to be substantial across the country next year.
Our Canadian experts will be diving into the complexities of the Canadian apartment and single-housing sectors to identify the factors market participants need to consider in the present environment. Our team will be joined by Mr. Aled ab Iorwerth, Deputy Chief Economist at CMHC. Aled joined CMHC in 2016 with a PhD in Economics from Western University and master’s degrees in European and International Relations (from University of Amsterdam) and Economics (from Carleton University).
Please join us on January 21 when these Canada experts will dive deeper into the residential sector and share more insights with you.
